1900s: ROOTS OF A LEGACY

In the quiet, sun-drenched town of Khangarh, South Punjab, Pakistan, Chef Sal's great grandfather, Nawab Safiullah Khan planted the first mango tree on his family’s land.

1900s: ORCHARDS FLOURISH

His son, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, takes things up a notch - planting the first Samarbaisht-Chaunsa mango trees, a variety so delicious it soon becomes the pride of the region. South Punjab’s identity is forever intertwined with the golden, honey-sweet Chaunsa. Fruit of the heavens!

1980s: A NEW GENERATION

Nasrullah’s sons and sons-in-law expand the orchards, planting more mango trees and strengthening South Punjab’s agricultural roots. The White Chaunsa gains national fame, and the family's mangoes become a symbol of excellence.

1988: CHILDHOOD AMIDST THE MANGOS

Generations later, Chef Sal grew up beneath those same trees, watching her family nurture the land. The scent of ripe fruit, the rhythm of harvests, and the warmth of shared meals shaped her love for food. She saw how flavours told stories and how tradition was preserved through every dish.

2022: A CULINARY PURSUIT

At Le Cordon Bleu London, Chef Sal honed her craft with classical precision, earning the esteemed Grand Diplôme. Yet, her heart never wandered far from home. The creation of her Kashmiri Chilli Oil was more than a culinary triumph, it was an ode to her grandfather’s lifelong commitment to the Kashmiri cause. Through it, she weaves personal heritage with political memory, blending spice and story to carry Pakistan’s culinary soul into the global conversation

2023: A FIERY TRIBUTE

Chef Sal crafts her first creation - Kashmiri Chilli Oil. A slow infused chilli oil packed with history, heat, and heritage, it bridges past and present, blending personal heritage with a cultural narrative.

2024: A GIRL’S TURN

Time to shake things up! She expands her lineup, introducing Multani Mango and Lahori Tamarind. These bold new flavours celebrate Pakistan’s diverse farming legacy, bringing the orchard’s story full circle, from her great-grandfather’s first saplings to her own modern pantry staples.

2025: BRIDGING THE GAP

With a solid foundation, Chef Sal looks back to where it all began. She champions Pakistani farmers, building connections between heritage and the future of food. One jar, one story, one bite at a time.

BUILDING OUR COMMUNITY

Third Culture Kat was born out of longing, the kind only a migrant knows. When your loved ones are oceans away, every meal in a new land can feel a little quieter. You grow, you learn, you build something new… but there’s always a piece of your heart missing. For me, it became essential to recreate the feeling of home - the warmth, the messiness, the spice, the laughter, right here in London. To build a community that felt like a family. That feeling became the soul of my supper clubs. And eventually, it found its way into my condiments too.  Because food isn’t just about taste. It’s about belonging. And at TCK, everybody’s welcome.
