A story of food, love and migration
“I was born in Multan, one of the warmest places in the world, to a farming family that grew mangoes. My name, ‘Saliha,’ can be found in Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, and the Urdu language. My heritage, like my name, is quite diverse. My dinner table was always filled with the bounty of the East. My friends loved coming over to my house to eat because the food represented many cultures—’authentically inauthentic’ is how I like to think of it. When I moved to Europe, I wanted to share that with people here. Covid gave me the opportunity to put my teaching carrier on pause and head to culinary school.
After graduating Grand Diplôme from Le Cordon Bleu London in 2022, it has been my passion project to host people around my dinner table and share my heritage stories and listen to theirs. ” Chef Sal
Testimonials
Zaha Jamal Rizvi
“We booked Sal for a dinner for 8 people. It was a tough one as lots of people had severe allergies, she worked diligiently with me to get all the dietary specifications sorted and was such a joy to be around and the food 10/10.”
Molly - K M Team
“What an incredible afternoon! It was just perfect and the team loved it. It completely exceeded our expectations.”
Denise Roggeveen
“Mohammed and I were lucky enough to enjoy Saliha’s supperclub in Amsterdam. You’d think that it’s easy to review a chef’s food when it’s this good, but it’s not when the ALL the dishes were so delicious and served in such an exceptional atmosphere that it’s hard to describe just using words. Saliha’s food is the kind of food that you makes you want to do a happy dance, but is warming and comforting at the same time.”
Lucas and Family
“My family and I are the biggest fans of Kashmiri Chilli oil. It’s a staple in our household and the fact that it helps farmers earn fair wage is a huge plus.”
Food, in the end, in our own tradition, is something holy. It’s not about nutrients and calories. It’s about sharing. It’s about honesty. It’s about identity. – Louise Fresco
